Here is a message to the young, especially to the college students in faith.
Jesus said to Peter:
“Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go.” John 21:18
I have often wondered what this verse meant. I would look up and read the commentaries on this verse and come to some conclusion in my head. This time, I wanted to point out how true this verse became to me. As I grew older and continue to do so, more responsibility is given to me. Those days of young, when I could simply spend my time however see fit, were slowly taken away. One thing that really kept me going, however, was the memories of time spent with God while I was in college, full of fire and passion. A mentor once told me to focus solely on God until I was, say, 26ish. He told me to enjoy Jesus to the entirety, for I will soon have more pressure to be doing something else. He was right, and thus, I hereby urge you to spend more time with Him. Enjoy His presence.
